The Department of Pharmaceutics is one of the most important departments in the College of Pharmacy.

Here the students are provided with the knowledge of professional pharmacy program with both a theoretical and a practical backgrounds. The knowledge provided by teaching, coupled with research, is the primary activity at the Department. The Department has experienced and highly qualified staff members who have been exposed to collaboration with national and international universities, institutions and companies. In future the department of pharmaceutics is focusing research mainly on the areas like preformulation studies, formulation and development of conventional dosage forms , design of various other dosage forms and many other drug targetting approaches.

The department is enriched with practical labs in the department where the students learn and practice about formulation, dispensing and labeling of various dosage forms. The department consists of three different labs including Pharmaceutical technology lab and dispensing lab. One research laboratory for M.Pharm. Students has also been established where the students are exposed to manufacturing and evaluation of various dosage forms.
